Community Partner of the Year Award

In a recently held Business Awards Luncheon organized by Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work; Options Whalley WorkBC was awarded Community Partner of the Year award.

The award was received by staff from Options Whalley WorkBC who help in marketing and placement of clients with multiple barriers including those with physical and mental limitations.

The event was attended by prominent community agencies and employers providing employment support services for persons with disabilities and inclusive employment.

Single dad moves from assistance to well-paid work

Donald is a highly ambitious man in his early 60s. He is a single dad of two beautiful children with almost 10 years of experience in trades, mostly self-employed to have better control over time for family. Unfortunately this did not work out and he had to seek support from BC Income Assistance (welfare).
